Conversations: A forum component
As the lead designer, I collaborated with our design systems team to create a new component.
Why this matters
As we translate legacy UI to the Redwood Design System, there are moments where the maturing design system doesn’t have the necessary components in its library. Users had no way to reply and create conversation threads in forum-like experiences.
This is one of those moments where I needed to step in and bridge that gap.
Mobile-first: A rare demand for enterprise UX
I conducted competitive analyses to identify the key interactions and visual indicators that would make this new component on par with consumer products.

Start with the best and work backwards
I discovered a workaround for one of our existing components. I compared it with other alternatives to our product and engineering teams to identify the need for a phased approach:
A buildable V1 custom component to meet immediate demands
A conceptual approach to push for a new design system component

Prioritize system-level understanding of a component
I served as a design point of contact for three different HCM teams as they applied the V1 component to ensure consistency.

Contributing to Oracle's design system
I passed specs over to the design systems point of contact and lead designer. The final version of the component is in development.
